چکیده

Research exploring the cultural influence on information system development (ISD) projects tends to focus a single level of (e.g., organizational culture) or incompatibility between one two levels that are assumed be discretely separate and static national culture). In contrast, our research conceptualizes culture as dynamic emergent, with varying overlapping cultures occur simultaneously in ISD occupational overlaps). Emergent Social Structures in Cultural Algorithms

Abstract Various biologically inspired approaches to problem solving using a social metaphor have been proposed. For example, both Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) have been employed to solve problems in optimization and design. Both approaches employ simple social interactions between agents to produce emergent social structures that are used to solve a given...

Information spreading and development of cultural centers

The historical interplay between societies is governed by many factors, including in particular the spreading of languages, religion, and other symbolic traits. Cultural development, in turn, is coupled to the emergence and maintenance of information spreading. Strong centralized cultures exist due to attention from their members, whose faithfulness in turn relies on the supply of information. ...

Cultural Differences, Information and Code Systems

This paper explores an alternative way of framing information systems research on the role and impact of national culture. It argues that the widely accepted structural framework of Hofstede reduces interpretation to a simplistic categorical description which in many cases ignores differentiation within cultures. The alternative model suggests, that national culture can be better understood by ...
